Healthy Homemade Salt & Vinegar Crunchy CUCUMBER Chips

Written by: Lindsay Sibson

There is something about salty and crunchy foods that makes them OH-so-satisfying.

However, reaching into a store bought bag of potato chips is not only going to do absolutely NOTHING for you health, but will also have a damaging effect, as many popular potato chip brands are overloaded with salt, trans fats and saturated fats and lack nutrients.

Ditch those icky greasy potato chips, but still get your tangy and salty fix by making homemade salt and vinegar crunchy cucumber chips!

Why EAT Cucumbers?

  • Fight inflammation by “cooling” the inflammatory response in your body
  • Contain numerous antioxidants such as vitamin C and beta-carotene
  • Very low in calories, yet make a filling snack due to their fiber content
  • Support your digestive health

How To Make Cucumber Chips

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cucumber, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp sea salt

Instructions:

1. Whisk together the vinegar and salt in a bowl.

2. Add the sliced cucumbers and toss until coated.

3. Arrange slices on a wire rack (or dehydrator tray).

4. Cooking method:

    • Use a dehydrator set at 135 degrees for 4 hours.
    • Cook in the oven at 135 degrees for 4 hours.

These cucumber chips are the perfect healthy snack for when you are looking for a tangy, salty and crunchy snack. The options are endless in regards to what you can dip them in!

Increase their health factor even more by using these chips to scoop up some:

Why dehydrate foods?

1. Dehydrated foods don’t lose their nutritional value.

      • Maintain their water soluble vitamins and minerals.

2. Cuts down on food waste.

      • Preserves and allows you to store foods for longer.

3. Great for people that do not have a lot of storage space.

    • Example: 20 pounds of tomatoes fill only 2 glass jars when dehydrated!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
