Were you brought into this world in less than ideal circumstances?

Have you ever found yourself wondering, “why me?”

We all come from different situations, circumstances, experiences, lifestyles… and we all have a choice as to where we end up.

Today I want to share a personal experience from my childhood and teach you a powerful tool for overcoming past trauma and stepping into a better future.

A future where YOU are in control and the master of your fate.

My Story

I was born into an abusive home.

I had young parents, misled by drugs who really didn’t understand what loving a child unconditionally meant. Looking back they probably were loving parents with good intentions but because of their own past or immaturity were not qualified to raise a child.

I wouldn’t go back and change my experience because it has helped become who I am today. But, it was very, very hard.

Often times our waking life is reflected in our subconscious at night in dream time. Our mind takes all the experiences of our day and compresses them into our dreams to help us process what is going on in life.

Some people have figured out how to “wake up” while they’re dreaming and realize that they are dreaming. This realization comes with the knowledge that they actually have power over their dreamspace.

When this happens it is called lucid dreaming.

I’ve never talked about this before because it is a little woo-woo for a lot of people.

Scientists have found that during a dream your entire brain becomes extremely active. Lots of research has been done on the possibility of lucid dreaming and the ability for someone to realize that they are dreaming during an actual dream.

Now, back to my story.

For 6 months straight, when I would sleep, a monster would attack me.

It was extremely terrifying. Every night I would wake up screaming and freaking out.

It was so real that during the day I would look at my hand and wonder if I was dreaming or not. If my hand changed, I would know I was dreaming. If it didn’t, I could take a deep breath and know that I was awake.

Then one day something magical happened.

One night, before I went to bed, I asked myself if I was dreaming and I pinched myself before laying down. I fell asleep quickly, like I always do.

Half way through the night, the ugly monster was coming for me again.

At least 7 feet tall with horns coming out of it’s back and some real gnarly looking teeth… and the eyes were a bright oozing green.

This time was different though. Something had changed inside of me.

I looked at the monster, then I looked down at my hand and asked the question that every beginner lucid dreamer must ask…

Is this real, or is this a dream?

I pinched myself and immediately knew that it was not real and in fact – I had entered one of the coolest worlds I would ever experience in my whole life.

What happened to the monster next would change my confidence outside this realm forever.

Without a second to spare, I began running after the monster.

Instantly I imagined a sword falling from the sky and as I jumped at least 25 feet in the air, I called forth the power of the clouds to charge this sword with the fiercest lightning the world had ever seen.

It was me versus the monster.

The monster that was responsible for stealing my personal power at night and making me wake up even more miserable and hopeless during the daylight hours.

Plunging back towards the earth, as if I were a falcon with laser focus, I saw the ugly monster and had no fear to behead this nasty creature from the depths of hell.

As I approached it – I was 10 feet away and all of a sudden, the dream changed.

It was no longer a grown monster – it was a little baby.

My fear was gone. I no longer needed to attack this creature that was probably deep inside just as scared as I was. I looked into the eyes of a cute tiny little monster who wasn’t so tough after all.

I was able to let go and forgive all of the many nights we spent together. From that point on I knew I had control over the monster and my dreams and my nighttime was never the same.

Likened to this monster at night, I had to face my monster in the daytime…

My own father.

Having the confidence from the dream enabled me to take greater faith in the day. I felt like I had this invisible protection-shield around me.

The dream gave my subconscious mind a different perception of the waking time monster.

Eventually, this allowed me to gather up enough personal courage to face him.

I was still a young boy at the ages of 3-5 so there was no way physically I could stand up against him. However, I could avoid circumstances of getting hit more and help my younger sister so that she was more protected.

I didn’t have to be a victim.

Eventually my sister escaped and told the neighbors what was going on and the monster of the time got taken away where all monsters go.

Prison. For a really long time.

After some time in the foster care system, I was adopted by my parents who are some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met and whom I love dearly.

Lucid Dreaming

Lucid dreaming is a real tool that has been around for thousands of years.

Inventors, prophets, poets and some of the most creative people that ever lived were able to harness the power of their dreams.

It is truly one of the greatest worlds I have ever accessed.

So much so that I am now using them regularly to seek guidance as an entrepreneur who has built multiple million dollar companies.

IF in a dream we “wake up” and realize that we, in fact, have control over our experiences and what happens next…

Is it possible for us to do the same thing in our real, waking life?

Imagine coming to the realization that YOU are in control of your own destiny.

That with the power of your heart and mind, you could redirect the course of your life and stop being manipulated by society and all its expectations.

What would you do?

How would you live differently?

I want to encourage you to do what I did as a young child and what I still do every week…

Start asking yourself on a daily basis… AM I DREAMING?

If you ask yourself enough, eventually you will start asking the same question during the nighttime while you’re dreaming.

You will become aware of yourself on a whole new level in the dreamspace and eventually realize that YOU ARE IN COMMAND.

Once that happens… there’s no stopping you from becoming more powerful, more in control, more confident and more proactive in your dreams and in your real life.

Again, this is a tool that I use weekly. It has been a big block in my foundation for becoming who I am today.

I hope to hear from you soon. I want to know how lucid dreaming has impacted your life. What kinds of wild dreams are you having? Comment below… share with me!

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
