Golden Salad Recipe To Help Your Skin Glow

It’s almost summer – hotter weather means more skin showing! So naturally, you want your skin to be at its best.
As you may know, I am obsessed with my skincare regime, because I know what it’s like to not have the best looking and feeling skin. As I’ve scoured books, the internet and anything out there that will give me pointers on how to take care of my skin, I’ve learned one thing: like everything else in the body, it all starts in the kitchen.
I feel that we know each other well by now, so it is no surprise to you when I say that turmeric is probably one of my favorite spices. I think of it as an all-around superfood, because it pairs well with so many other ingredients to provide different functional remedying properties for the whole body. You can imagine my delight when I found out that I could pair it with carrot for glowing skin.
I found a recipe that is perfect for the summer from our friends at mindbodygreen.com who describe the sauce as a “peppery and bright-orange in color turmeric sauce that tastes great over my carrot and almond salad, which both contribute to glowing skin with vitamins A and E. This sauce is versatile and can be used on other dishes as well, if you wish to experiment!“
Note: I used ¼ avocado instead of the almond butter and I loved how creamy it was. I wanted to eat a salad, so I added some chickpeas to make it a meal and provide the protein I needed.
Vibrant Glow Carrot Salad With Turmeric Sauce
- Place all of the creamy turmeric sauce ingredients in a blender or bowl and blend or whisk until smooth.
- Spiralize or grate three big carrots.
- Place the carrots, almonds, raisins and creamy turmeric sauce in a medium bowl and toss until mixed.
Food is truly nature’s gift, I think it is important to allow your creativity to shine in the kitchen as you find what works and doesn’t work for your taste buds.
