Benefits Of An Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie

Oats
  • Full of dietary fiber, which also helps you feel full
  • High amounts of dietary fiber, nutrients, low calories and a small amount of fat, making it great for weight loss
  • Good source of antioxidants
  • Great for your heart – helps reduce serum cholesterol levels in your body
Banana
  • Indulge your sweet tooth for minimal calories – a medium sized banana has about 110 calories!
  • Naturally fat and cholesterol-free
  • Has a high potassium content – great for your nerve and muscle function
  • Contains a good amount of vitamin C.
  • Contains fiber, which helps you feel fuller longer and promotes healthy and regular bowel movements
Chia Seeds

Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • ⅓ cup oats
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp agave nectar (or substitute with honey or maple syrup)  
  • 2 tbsp flax meal
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1 large frozen banana (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 ½ cups vanilla almond milk

Instructions:

1. Place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth (about 30 seconds).

2. To change the consistency, you can add more almond or coconut milk (to make it thinner).

Top if off with some raisins or a sprinkle of your favorite crushed nuts and VOILA – the ultimate fall smoothie at your fingertips.
