Fight Mosquitos With This EASY DIY Garden – Saturday Strategy

Fight Mosquitos With This EASY DIY Garden – Saturday Strategy

It’s one thing to keep mosquitoes off of your body, it’s another thing to keep them out of your environment.

If you watched our Saturday Strategy last week, then you already know mosquitoes are considered the number one killer on the planet! That’s right – these little obnoxious bugs are responsible for more deaths every year than human murders!

Last Saturday we taught you how to make an organic, toxin-free mosquito repellent. Be sure you check it out if you missed it! In today’s Saturday Strategy, we are going to show you how to make a mini pallet board garden where you can grow herbs all year long AND keep the pesky bugs away.

Watch the video to see how to build the pallet garden! Below is the recipe for wood varnish that is anti-mosquito. Hint hint: it’s the same ingredients as last week!

Mosquito Repelling Wood Varnish

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Olive oil
  • 10 drops Lemon oil
  • 10 drops Eucalyptus oil
  • 10 drops Peppermint oil

Instructions: Mix all the ingredients together in a glass container. Dip in a rag and use the rag to rub the mixture into the wood. You can even pour the mixture directly onto the wood if desired.

Herbs To Grow In Your Pallet Garden

Why go through the trouble of growing your own herbs? Because then you will have some of Mother Nature’s powerful super plants growing fresh right outside your house! Herbs have all sorts of benefits AND they help make dinner delicious. Think about how much better fresh herbs will taste in your dinners instead of dried stuff that’s been sitting in your cupboard for a year.

Thyme

An easy herb to grow and use in the kitchen, thyme also has many medicinal benefits. You can use thyme to soothe a sore throat as it contains antibacterial properties. Some studies suggest that thyme can help to lower cholesterol and blood pressure, prevent food poisoning, improve mood, fight cancer and even help aid the cough from bronchitis.

Rosemary

Rosemary has a sweet citrus-wood like fragrance and is a loved scent in most kitchens. This herb is extremely versatile and can even be grown indoors with a little extra care. Rosemary is believed to improve memory, cognitive performance and mood.

Basil

Basil is a common herb in most kitchens around the world and is part of the mint family. There are actually 35 different types of basil, with holy basil being the most potent and remedying. Basil contains powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Some studies suggest it may help fight cancer and other deadly diseases.

Stevia

If you’ve ever tried to avoid conventional sugar, then you’ve probably heard of stevia! Stevia has been growing in popularity over the past several years for its ability to naturally sweeten beverages and foods without spiking insulin the way sugar does. It also doesn’t carry the same dangerous side effects artificial sweeteners do.

Sage

Sage is a potent herb that may improve brain function, lower inflammation, improve digestion and clear up certain skin conditions. It also contains many antioxidants, which help to support the immune system and fight degenerative disease.

Catnip

Are you a restless sleeper? Catnip is for you! Catnip has been known to help calm restless sleep, reduce anxiety and stress and sooth digestive discomfort and menstrual pain while also reducing inflammation.

What tricks do you use in your garden to keep the bugs away? We’d love to hear about them!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
