Eating my delicious fruit salad consisting of strawberries, blackberries, apples and kiwi got me thinking about the importance of breakfast.
Some say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
I would argue that all meals and snacks are equally important, no exception, however, it is true that it is crucial to start your day with nutritious food that will give you lots of energy for your day. Starting your day in a healthy way will also help you to make healthier choices throughout the day.
Plant-based foods are a good option as they tend to be full of fiber, vitamins and minerals. B vitamin-rich foods are especially fantastic, as they provide you with lots of energy. Plant-based proteins and fats will keep you full and satisfied until lunch time.

Papaya is a tasty tropical food that is high in vitamin C and is very anti-inflammatory. It is great for your digestive health, especially because its enzyme, papain, helps you to digest protein. Papaya is great as it is, in a fruit salad, or mixed with your granola or yogurt.

Chia seeds are an increasingly popular superfood. They are not only a complete protein source, but are also rich in magnesium, iron, B vitamins and essential fatty acids.
