Eat These 6 Food To Boost Your Mood (Chocolate Included!)

Written by: Lindsay Sibson

I’m usually a pretty solid sleeper.

I fall asleep quickly… and seven-ish hours later I wake up.

However, that was NOT the case the past two nights. The only way I can describe my sleep the past two nights is “fake sleeping.”

You know what I’m talking about… when you lay there and kind of dream, kind of sleep, toss and turn and wonder how the heck it became morning so fast?

Let’s just say that during the following days, I found it hard to be a human. My brain was in a fog and my eyes just wanted to close (not to mention I started daydreaming about huge cups of sweetened coffee drinks, pizza and every other junk food imaginable).

I needed to boost my mood STAT. Luckily, there are health and natural food options that are readily available that you can consume when you are looking for a little pick-me-up.

Check them out below!

  • Helps produce feelings of relaxation
  • Rich in the antioxidant selenium
    • Low levels of selenium have been linked to anxiety
  • Great source of vitamin D
    • Supports healthy mood
    • Also get regular sun exposure to optimize your vitamin D levels
Organic Black Coffee
  • Coffee triggers a mechanism in your brain that releases brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)
    • Actives your brain stem cells to convert into new neurons
    • Improves your brain health
    • Low levels of BDNF may play a role in depression

Dark chocolate? Black coffee? DONE and DONE.

Happy eating everyone!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
