Easy Ways To Make Your Workout A Party

Written by: Brandon Epstein

The days of climbing up hill on a treadmill staring blankly at a wall, bored out of your mind are over.

There are so many fun tools out there now that make working out more than an activity you have to do, but an activity you get to do.

How do you make the shift from dreading your workout to anticipating it with enthusiasm every day?

You make it an experience of a lifetime.

Here are 5 fun tips you can use to make working out the highlight of your day:

1. Pump The Jams

Download the app 8tracks and you will never be bored again during a workout. This awesome app allows you to access epic music and philosophical playlists upvoted by other people, so you know they will be good. All in one workout, I might listen to a compilation of philosophers to motivate me as I warm up, then pump some upbeat house music during the workout and finally finish with a yoga playlist as I warm down.

2. Get Fitted

You can have a much better experience in the gym when you get dressed up to go! I don’t mean wearing a dress or suit – I mean getting some super comfortable clothes that you feel confident in and rock them like there’s no tomorrow. You know what they say, “when you look good, you feel good.” And I will add… when you feel good, you perform even better!

3. Keep The Tempo

To stay in your zone, try and use a high intensity interval app or the stopwatch on your phone to make sure you are keeping the tempo up. Nothing can fragment a workout like a prolonged conversation with that one person from the gym who wants to tell you their life story. Stick to doing an exercise at least every 1-3 minutes to stay in your zone and immersed in the experience.

4. Challenge Yourself

Track what you do in every workout so you can challenge yourself to perform better every time you exercise. You are hardwired to achieve and strive for more. If you always do the same thing and don’t progress, you will get bored. Instead, every time you go in the gym, anticipate another opportunity to perform better than you ever have before. This gamifies your workout and makes it way more fun! Track this in a notes page on your phone or in a fitness app.

5. Enjoy The Process

Instead of suffering through a repetition, try smiling through it. This sounds crazy, but it’s something I have cultivated in my yoga practice that I now take into all my workouts that is super effective. When you smile through super intense reps, you will feel all that built-up tension dissipate and push a stream of positive energy throughout your entire body. Your workout should be a party. Dance from set to set, have fun and smile.

Working out can be as fun as you want it to be. At the very least, download the app 8tracks and start listening to some awesome workout jams the next time you exercise. From there, try to stack an extra tip into your routine every time you go in for a workout. Before you know it, you’ll be the biggest gym junkie in town.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
