Easy Chocolate Sauce (Healthy, Only 3 Ingredients)

Can chocolate sauce be healthy?

Yes, it CAN!

Giving up chocolate may be one of your biggest fears in transitioning to a healthier lifestyle. But I am here to tell you that you do not have to give up chocolate to be healthy. I repeat – you do NOT have to give up chocolate.

With a subtle shift away from the processed, sugary candies you grew up with, you can still enjoy it and even receive some health benefits.

And guess what? Even chocolate sauce can be good for you.

The main ingredient of this healthy and delicious chocolate sauce is raw cacao.

Raw cacao is abundant of magnesium, a mineral that most people – yes, including you! – are deficient in. It is full of essential minerals, such as calcium, zinc, iron, copper, manganese, potassium and sulfur and vitamins, including B1, B2, B3, B5, B9, C and E. Moreover, raw cacao contains lots of antioxidant-rich flavonoids and oleic acid, an essential heart-healthy monounsaturated fat, keeping your entire body healthy and cancer and heart-disease away.

The second magical ingredient of this recipe is raw honey.

Raw honey may just be nature’s best medicine. It is a powerful anti-inflammatory antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal natural substance that is good for pretty much any infection. Serving as a preventative, honey also keeps illness away. It is naturally sweet, making it a medicine that you will enjoy taking.

If you are a pure vegan or don’t like honey for some reason, you can also use maple syrup in this recipe. Using maple syrup, you will also receive some wonderful health benefits. Maple syrup contains important minerals, such as iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium and zinc and vitamins, like B1, B2, B3 and B6.

The third ingredient is water.

Water is ever-hydrating, oh, so natural and an easy-to-find ingredient. The best is to use spring, mineral or purified water, of course, over tap water.

Here is how to make this delicious chocolate sauce:

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp of honey or maple syrup
  • 5 tbsp of water 

Instructions:

  1. Mix your cacao powder and honey (or maple syrup) in a bowl.
  2. Add water and mix. 

Serve it over fruits, raw vegan dessert, morning oatmeal, chia pudding, or banana ice cream.
