Fitness trackers are all the rage these days, each promising to help you achieve all your fitness goals.

With so many different options on the market, it can be hard to decide on which one is the best one for you and your needs.

In efforts to help you narrow down the best tracker just for you, I have compiled 10 things the your fitness tracker can do and suggestions for which trackers you should consider.

1. Acts Like Your Personal Trainer

If you are like me, your relationship with your personal trainer is a complicated one, yet I go back every week to get my butt whipped into shape. If you are not quite ready for the tough love that a personal trainer can give you, try a fitness tracker. A fitness tracker can serve as a personal trainer as well. You can get coached through your workouts through a colorful touch screen.

For $199.95 the FitBit Blaze is a great one to try.

2.  Plays Your Favourite Workout Tunes

I love to listen to some empowering tunes when I am running, but I also like to run light, with as little as possible. Having a phone, an ipod shuffle, my water bottle and so on makes for a very uncomfortable run.

Here enters the TomTom Spark Cardio + Music Watch for $249.99 you can store up to 500 of your favorite workout tunes and listen to them on your Bluetooth headphones.

3. Provides Daily Fitness Goals

If you are the type of person who thrives when working towards a goal, a fitness tracker is a great tool.

One that comes to mind is the Apple watch; for $249.99 this watch will give you detailed measurements during your workouts and give you targeted daily goals, even goals such as being sure to stand more.

4. Can Be Your Best Accessory

Who doesn’t love a great accessory? The best accessory is the one that speaks best to your personality. The Google Android watch can offer you just that.

For $149.99 you can choose from 30 different faces and bands to create your own look while still keeping up with your fitness goals.

5. Tracks Your Sleep

As a health coach, I can tell you that sleep is super important for your overall health and in the fast world that we live in today, quality sleep is hard to find. Your fitness tracker can help you track how long your REM cycles last to help you find ways to get deeper, better and more quality sleep.

For $179.99 the Jawbone UP3 model will even tell you if you had light or deep sleep.

6. Measures Your Heart Rate

I love to watch my heart rate during my intense workouts. The Samsung Gear Fit watch is a great fitness tracker for just that.

For $149.99 this watch offers an easy-to-view heart-rate monitor that you can see even during your workout.

7. Gives You A Nudge

We can’t take our personal trainers everywhere just to remind us to get moving, but the Garmin vivofit can do that for you.

For $99.99 this fitness tracker displays a red “move” bar when you have been sitting too long, it even sounds a gentle alert when you have had one hour of inactivity.

8. Encourages You To Increase Your Intensity

When you are tired and just want to quit, your personal trainer is in your ear encouraging you to keep going, go faster, lift harder and keep pushing.

But if you don’t have one of those, for $180.00 the Under Armour Band will let you know when you need to take your workouts up a notch.

9. Simplifies Your Fitness Into A Daily Step Count

Some of us like to keep things super simple and at $59.95 the FitBit zip will do just that.

This tracker counts your steps, calories burned and your most active minutes.

10. Doesn’t Need To Be Charged Often

If you are a busy person who doesn’t want to have to keep charging your fitness tracker, the Misfit Swarovski Activity Crystal Slake Set may be a good fit.

For $169.00 this fitness tracker will track your sleep and activity for 6 whole months without a charge.

Here is my general disclaimer: I have not been paid to advertise, endorse or support any of these trackers. I share this information because I am passionate about adding value to your life and the lives of others. My goal is to help you find what works for you based on your needs and fitness goals.

Do you use a tracker not listed in the list above? Have you used any of these trackers? Please share your experiences in the comments below.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
