Delicious Gluten-Free Chocolate Protein Pancakes

When you are trying to eat clean, breakfast can be one of the hardest meals to cook for. Smoothies don’t always fill your appetite and traditional american breakfasts often call for sugary processed cereals, white flour waffles, pancakes, french toast and processed meats.

If you are trying to avoid gluten, eat clean or simply stick to foods that give you energy in the morning instead of weigh you down, where should you start?

Let me tell you… there are A LOT of delicious foods you can add to your morning routine! It just takes some habit-changing and the learning of new recipes. Before you know it, you’ll be whipping up all kinds of breakfast goodies that are not only nutritious, but also taste fantastic!

The following recipe is a favorite of both my husband and I. They taste better than regular pancakes and are completely gluten-free!

Chocolate Protein Pancakes

Chocolate Protein Pancakes

Recipe type: gluten-free, sibo friendly, dairy-free
Serves: 3
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 scoops chocolate plant protein powder
  • Handful of dark chocolate chips (optional)
  1. Mash up the banana in a bowl. Add the eggs and protein powder and stir together thoroughly. You can also just throw all the ingredients into a blender for this step!
  2. Heat small amount of coconut oil or butter in a skillet on medium heat. Pour batter into desired sized pancakes. If desired, put a few chocolate chips onto the pancake. Flip once bubbles begin to appear on surface.
  3. Serve plain or with honey, maple syrup, strawberries, homemade jam, peanut butter, etc.
