Daily Morning Detox To Start A Wonderful Day

Do you want to start your day on a right note? Follow these tips to ensure a magical day!

1. Daily gratitude (1 minute)

Always start your day with gratitude. Even before opening your eyes think of things and people you are grateful for. Don’t just list them, but imagine them, feel them and truly feel thankful. If it’s helpful, write 3-5 things down once you open your eyes.

2. Reconnect with nature (2 – 5 minutes or you can do your entire morning routine outside)

Open the curtains and look outside. Enjoy the sunline – or if it’s raining or snowing, still appreciate what nature brings you. If possible, step outside or open the windows to breath in the fresh air. Even in the winter, you can do this for a minute. If it truly feels cold, just admire nature from the window and close to your houseplants.

3. Do a digital detox (for the entire morning routine)

Chances are that one of the first things you do in the morning is get on your phone or compute, checking your email or social media. Ditch that for the morning. Don’t touch your phone or computer for the first 5 minutes of the day. Keep increasing this to 10 minutes, 20 minutes or even an hour. The longer your hold off, the calmer your day may be.

4. Journal (3 – 8 minutes)

Morning journaling is proven to be super beneficial. Free write for 5 minutes or longer. Don’t think about punctuation or sentence structure, just write whatever comes to your mind. Just let it flow. End your journaling with gratitude. If free writing is difficult for you now, perhaps look for writing prompts. You can find many journals with prompts and techniques out there, as well as online.

5. Read something positive (1 – 2 minutes)

You may want to get a calendar with beautiful quotes, purchase a pack of angel cards, get a book with affirmations or a book with inspiring stories, but read something positive to start your day with hope and joy. You can even write your own affirmations to read every day. Whatever puts a smile on your face and helps you along.

6. Meditate (2 – 10 minutes)

If you are new to it, start with 1-2 minutes and work it up to 5-10 minutes or longer. You can use a word or a mantra to guide you along or use your breath. Focus on your mantra, word or your breath while sitting calmly. Practice no reactions. Don’t put emphasis on your mantra or word either, it is not happy or sad, it just ‘is.’ As thoughts, emotions or physical symptoms enter your mind or body, let them go. Don’t react to them. Acknowledge them and let them pass. Don’t get frustrated. Meditation is a lifetime practice. There is no right or wrong way of doing it.

7. Stretch out (2 – 5 minutes)

Stretching your body out or perhaps doing a few sun salutations or practicing the 5 tibetan rites will be helpful for your body and mind in preparation for your day.

Watch a video on the 5 tibetan rites HERE.

This list may seem long and overwhelming at first, but all these practices take a minute or few minutes each. If you add it all up, the entire routine should take 10 – 20 minutes (depending on the length of your journaling and meditation). Only 10 – 20 minutes each morning to start your day right is not much. Try it and see your life start to transform.

Get back to us in a week, a month and 6 months from now when practicing this and tell us the difference you notice in your daily life. We would love to hear from you.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
