Lavender essential oil is incredibly versatile and has many health benefits that can improve your health as well as calm your mind and help you get a good night’s rest. However, lavender oil is not just beneficial for your health, but it is also beneficial when used in your home and for beauty!
Chemical-Free, All Natural Lip Balm. If you are like me, you cannot stand your lips being dry, but you do not want the harsh chemicals of the commercial brand chapsticks.
Instead, lavender essential oil makes a wonderful, natural lip balm. The lavender not only can help your lips if they are dry and cracked from a sunburn, but it can also give you protection when you are out in the sun.
Simply add a couple of drops of lavender essential oil to a carrier oil such as coconut oil or jojoba oil and then rub onto your lips.
Fresh, Deodorizing Carpet Powder. Lavender essential oil is a natural antibacterial, making it effective against bacteria. Using lavender essential oil with baking soda not only removes lingering bacteria in your carpet, but the baking soda freshens and removes odor!
- Combine 2 cups of baking soda and 30 drops of lavender essential oil in a mason jar.
- Place the cap on the jar and mix well to combine both ingredients.
- Remove the cap and replace the inner lid with construction paper. Secure the rim and cut off any excess paper.
- Poke a few holes in the paper.
- Apply liberally to your carpet.
- Wait 1 to 2 hours then vacuum thoroughly.
Freshen The Fabric In Your House. Make a mixture of water and lavender essential oil. You can freshen up your couch fabric, curtains and even bed sheets! If you use dryer sheets while you dry your clothes, you can even add a couple of drops of oil to the dryer sheet and then toss it in the dryer while your clothes are drying.
Simply get some water and add several drops of lavender essential oil. Mix together in a spray bottle or mason jar.
Freshen Your Laundry With A Laundry Rinse. A mixture of lavender essential oil and white vinegar can keep your laundry smelling fresh and you won’t have to worry about using harsh chemicals! Using white vinegar in your laundry helps to soften your clothes, making them brighter and kills odor.
Add 1 teaspoon (about 100 drops) of lavender essential oil to a 16oz bottle of distilled white vinegar. Shake the bottle to mix the oil and vinegar. Add ¼ cup to your laundry and start the laundry cycle.
Disinfect Your Bathroom And Kitchen. Lavender essential oil is a natural disinfectant, antibacterial and antimicrobial. This makes lavender oil great for cleaning your kitchen and bathrooms while leaving them disinfected and smelling of soothing lavender.
- One teaspoon of borax
- Two tablespoons of white vinegar
- 12 drops of lavender essential oil
- One teaspoon lemon juice
- ¼ cup of lavender Castille soap
