Who doesn’t love chocolate cake? I could probably eat my weight in it! Unfortunately, those cake mixes and premade cakes that you can pick up at the grocery store are loaded with bleached flour and sugar, things that just are not healthy for you at all.

Fortunately, there is a healthy alternative to those store bought chocolate cakes, one that has vitamins and minerals that benefit your body and tastes amazing!

Avocado Chocolate Cake

  • 1 ripe avocado, mashed until smooth
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 cups flour (rice or coconut flour)
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups water
  • 5 tbsp dark chocolate cacao powder
  • 2 cups sucanat sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar

If you want to frost your cake:

  • 2 ripe avocados, mashed until smooth
  • 5 tbsp dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 1 cups Monk fruit sugar

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Flour and grease two 9” round cake pans
  3. Whisk the flour, cacao powder, baking soda, kosher salt and baking powder in a large bowl. In another bowl, whisk olive oil and the white vinegar, avocado, water and vanilla extract. As soon as they a combined, add the sucanat sugar.
  4. Pour the mixture into the flour mixture and stir well.
  5. Divide the mixture evenly between cake pans and bake.
  6. Check after half an hour to see if the cake is done.
  7. Leave the cakes to cool in the pans and remove after 15 minutes.
  8. Add a layer of frosting on the first cake and then top the second one.
  9. Pour the remaining frosting on the top of the entire cake.

So, what makes this cake so healthy? That’s easy! The avocado for one!

  • Avocados are considered to be a superfood. Even though they are high in fat and in calories, they are one of the best foods that you can possibly eat.
  • They protect your eyes against disease. Avocados are loaded with lutein, which is a type of antioxidant that can help you protect your eyes.
  • Avocados are full of fiber, which can help you lose weight. Just half of an avocado gives you 3.4 grams of fiber, both soluble and insoluble fiber. Both of these types of fibers help to keep your digestive system running at its optimal level. The soluble fiber also helps with the carbohydrate breakdown in your body, which helps keep you feeling fuller for longer.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
