Do you like cauliflower? I do. If you don’t after reading about its benefits, you may at least want to consider being friends with it. There are various recipes from fake chicken burgers to simple soups that you can make with cauliflower. This plant is a close relative of broccoli and also contains the famous chemical compound, sulforaphane. It is the 3rd highest source of this substance.

1. Great For Fat Loss And Muscle Building
Cauliflower is relatively low in calories and high in protein. No matter if you want to lose fat or gain muscle, it is an excellent choice to boost your nutrition. It is also high in fiber and helps with digestion.
2. Liver Detoxification
It boosts phase 1 and phase 2 liver detoxification. Sulforaphane is one of the most powerful phase 2 enzyme-inducers. Phase 2 liver detoxification is essential to get rid of harmful toxins you are facing every day.
3. Fights Cancer
In the last few years, sulforaphane has been highly researched by scientists due to its potent anticancer properties. It seems to be effective against cancer stem cells.
This plant is a rich source of vitamins, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory chemicals like vitamin C, K, beta-carotene, quercetin, caffeic acid, omega-3 fatty acids, etc… Antioxidants can protect you against oxidative stress and the vitamin K with the omega-3 fatty acids can successfully fight inflammation.

Cauliflower contains an ingredient called diindolylmethane, which directly affects and helps to balance your hormones.
A little trick to get more sulforaphane from your cruciferous vegetables: put ground mustard seed into your dishes, which catalyzes the transformation of glucoraphanin to sulforaphane.

- 1 tbsp lemon zest
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 3 tbsp orange juice
- 1 head of cauliflower cut into pieces
- 1 cup pomegranate seeds
- ½ cup chopped mint
- ½ cup chopped parsley
- 2 tbsp chopped chives
- ¼ cup nigella seeds
- ¼ cup olive oil
- Salt to taste
