Drew:  Drew Canole here.  I have an exciting guest on the line.  I’ve been friends with Roslyn Webb for a while.  In 2008 she went off all of her meds, she actually at the time, which was Crohn's – if you don’t know anything about Crohn's sit tight, Roslyn is going to explain it to us and I’m going to get a little bit further into it and we’re going to see how she leveraged juicing to help calm that, what was once thought of as not able to get rid of and heal herself.  Let’s hear it for Roslyn.  Are you there?

Roslyn:  I’m here.

Drew:  Excellent.  I’m excited to have you on FitLifeTV, Roslyn.  First and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to do this.  I know you and I went back and forth via Facebook and you actually had to go in to work and for some reason you just stayed behind to help with our movement.  Thank you for that.

Roslyn:  I appreciate the opportunity to just share what wonderful things God will do in our lives when we listen to the natural ways of healing.

Drew:  Yes, so tell us about that.  In 2008 you had Crohn's.  For somebody listening to this that doesn’t know what Crohn's is, can you describe what you were going through back then?

Roslyn:  Yes, actually I was diagnosed in 2004 with auto-immune disease.  They weren’t really sure which one it was and they just threw a lot of different medicines at me and nothing was really working.  By 2005 we figured out that it was Crohn's disease and I got on better medicine, was considered better medicine.  They were working and allowing me to function but they were not allowing me to live life fully.  I would go in to work and I’d be tired by the end of the day, I had really bad joint problems and I won’t go into details, let’s just say by GI system was really out of whack.

In 2008 I really began thinking there’s got to be a different way because I was going to the best doctors and they told me I was on the best medicine so I knew that wasn’t the best that God has for us so I began looking for other ways and I was led to begin juicing in addition to taking vitamins, and I think that’s important just because like you know my story, Drew, I was only juicing fruits but I was taking the vitamins.  Initially I was kind of half doing what I should be doing but I did what I knew to do.

Drew:  So you were taking vitamins, you were healing up your digestion, for somebody listening to this, the reason juicing works so entirely with digestion is that the actual cells of the vegetables and fruit, the cell walls, get broken down and it’s easier for your body to absorb.  When somebody that has Crohn's or any digestive order for that matter, their body it’s a lot harder to get the nutrient enzymes, the aminos and the different things that your cells need on the molecular level, bio-availability of the nutrients just in there.

So when she was juicing she was getting everything that she needed to refuel those cells, in particular GI track, the digestive system so that she could fuel her body.  That’s kind of what happened, which is amazing, Roslyn.

The things we talked about is juicing fruit, you were doing a lot of fruit juice which is awesome.  Fruit have a ton of antioxidants benefits, an antioxidant that can go and clean up free radicals or disease or help with immunity and that kind of thing, fruit is awesome.  When it comes to losing weight and transforming one thing we want to stick with is to juice more greens, more vegetables, and more chlorophyll.

Roslyn:  I didn’t learn that until I got to your site.

Drew:  Absolutely.  You found us online and you’ve been juicing ever since 2008.  You’ve actually been juicing a little bit longer than I have actually so congratulations.  When you first started juicing tell us about what you started to experience?  I know Crohn's and any digestive discomfort; gas, bloating, pain in the stomach, fatigue, anything that’s happening in the digestive track, you’re always tired, you’re wondering when you have to use the bathroom again, it’s very, very, it’s hard to function in daily life when you’re going through all that stuff.  When you started juicing was it almost like you were taking your life like it was coming back into control and like you were able to function more correctly?

Drew's Juice Recipe For Digestion Repair

Roslyn:  Absolutely.  I was able to complete my work day and still come home and have a life after work.  Normally before juicing I’d come home and just crash because I had no energy left.  After juicing I was able to have a full day and incorporate some healthier things in my life that I enjoy doing, it wasn’t all about work.  The symptoms quickly abated, there was no fear where’s the closest bathroom.  The worst part of the disease I had lost vision in my left eye for a few weeks and there was always a pain in my left eye.  I haven’t had that issue since I began juicing.

My joints would swell and that has gone away.  Just having more energy, having less of like you said, less of the bloating and just feeling comfortable eating other foods.  One thing with Crohn's there are times when you can’t eat healthier or you feel like you can’t eat foods because they weren’t working right.  Juicing was allowing me to get the nutrients that I needed and, like you said, the antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties to calm everything down so if I wanted to have a small piece of meat it was okay.

Drew:  Even eating vegetables because of the fiber with Crohn's can sometimes be problematic.

Roslyn:  Absolutely.

Drew:  You were right.  The inflammation and the things that you were juicing definitely helped.  One of the big things that we’re proponents is turmeric, juicing turmeric is really, really helps, it’s an anti-inflammatory.  That’s definitely something.  If you’re not doing now you might want to incorporate that into your juicing.

Roslyn:  You posted that a few weeks ago and I ran out to Whole Foods and bought some.

Drew:  What’s crazy and I hear this all too often, Roslyn, is that you have some of the best health care practitioners in the world helping you and telling you to do one thing and bless their hearts, they don’t mean to do anything wrong like that they’re really trying to help you, but resorting back to something that’s natural, the thing that comes from the ground.  In order to help heal yourself and remedy the Crohn's I think more people need to be aware of.

If somebody has Crohn's or auto-immune disease or something that’s wrong with their digestion, in going back to when you started with all this, like in 2004-2005 what would you tell that person today?

Roslyn:  One thing that I didn’t yet share with you, Drew, is I’m actually a physician, I’m a doctor.  It was really hard for me to not believe what my colleagues were telling me that I needed to do for my health.  It took a minute for me to say okay this isn’t working I know that there’s something that will work.  What I tell other people is we’re labeled as alternative medicine or any type of weird name but I just followed the results.  I do what works for me.  What wasn’t working for me was taking 18 pills a day.  If you do have Crohn's disease and you may be infused with Remicade every six weeks, I was being infused every five weeks because things just were not working for me.

When I chose to go natural, do something different; find something that works it was the juicing.  Again, initially I said I’m going to do the vitamins too.  Now that I found your website I’m even having to take less supplemental vitamins because I’m doing more vegetables.  The vitamins were kind of acting as my veggie substitute for a while but now that I know to incorporate the vegetables I have all of the benefits that I had with the vitamins plus I’m losing weight.  I’ve only been doing this a short time but the results are inspiring to continue.

I would never suggest to anyone to come off your medicine, as a physician, I did it because I know what to do and I know what to look for.  I would strongly encourage you to discuss with your physician, if there’s possibly something else that would help.

Drew:  If you plan on doing a juice cleanse or anything at all, always consult with your doctor, exactly like you said.  I love it; you’re down 9 pounds already.

Roslyn:  In a little over a month now.

Drew:  When you look in the mirror and you see that you’re down five pounds but even more importantly when you feel that you have control of your life again, what does that feel like?

Roslyn:  It’s the most amazing thing.  I have to give honor to God because he designed us to feel this way, to feel like we’re in control over what he’s given us, to feel like we can do more than what we’re doing, we have the joy that he’s given us and we can experience life to the fullest.  That’s what I have when I am completely in line with his plan.

Drew:  I love that.  If we were to develop a protocol for you starting in 2005-2006 when you started doing this; what was it?  Walk me through a typical day to get you back on track to where you are today.  What did a day look like with juicing and your diet and everything else?

Roslyn:  In 2008 when juicing started in the morning I would get my fruits, whatever I wanted to use; I love apples so it generally consisted of apples and then whatever else was in season.  I juiced that in the morning and go through the day.  I rarely ate lunch based on my work schedule and I’d come home in the evening and I’d juice another to eat with whatever dinner I’d have.

Fast forward a few years; I did that first off and on and then pretty consistently because I realized when I didn’t do it I would have issues that I didn’t want to see any more.  Now that I’m more consistent with it; fast forward to let’s say this year with finding your site and adding vegetables in it, in the month of August I decided I was going to do my own type of juice, I didn’t get on any site or anything but I said for 10 days I’m only going to juice.  Every meal was vegetable juice; I bought your book, used your recipes and that got me through the 10 days.

After that I went down to two meals a day to juice and then I’d eat a sensible dinner.  That pretty much is how I have the energy, the joy, and the desire to go out and do more.  The inspiration is to read more on the web about what eating raw foods – the people that post on your wall I usually go and check them out to see how to make this more of a lifestyle, to give me more options.

Back in 2008 when I was doing it I really didn’t have a lot of options, I just bought what fruits I liked, juiced them and drank them.  Today I have a lot more options because there’s so much more available on Facebook and on the web.

Drew:  I never thought about that, those transformation stories that I post and I’m going to be sharing yours with the tribe as well.  Going back and seeing what they’re doing is key.  On Facebook you can look at the pictures they’re posted of their food and what they’re eating and the places that they’ve been and it really makes it like a real strong community.

If you’re not a member of Juicing Vegetables or Juicing Animals which is a membership website that we have at JuiceUpYourLife.TV what I’ll do is give you free access to that.  It’s $97 and $37 a month but I’ll just comp you for a year for dedicating your time and to helping others, I want to help you.  It has tons of different stuff, more books, more recipes, over 150 different videos and interviews just like this from doctors and people that can really help.

I love the fact that you’re a physician.  Tell me a little bit more about that.  When you started juicing and being in the environment around all these other doctors and drinking your fruit juices and your green drink; did they think you were a little nuts?

Roslyn:  Not really because my colleagues witnessed what I was going through.  They knew how miserable I was at work every day.  I’m an anesthesiologist so running through the OR from room to room; the stress level of the operating room was so hard on me.  They recognized that something’s got to change for her.  Initially I didn’t tell them, I didn’t tell anybody I just did it.  Then after a while people said wow something’s different.  My stress level was different because I’m getting more sleep at night because my body is getting what it needs; now everything is coming into order.

Finally when I shared with them that I was off all medicines they were of course happy for me and they shared how they could see a big difference in how not only that I looked happier and I looked healthier but I was interacting in a more professional way, I wasn’t as irritable is what they were trying to say.

Even though doctors are analytical and we like the science behind the things; results speak volumes.  It’s not something we learned in med school but if I have the results no one is going to refute, no one is going to say anything about that.

Drew:  Did you encourage anyone, Roslyn, like especially in the rest of the surgeons and the doctors in there that you work with to at least trying one of your fruit juices?

Roslyn:  I didn’t.  I’m not really sure why.  Today I tell everybody but before I was looking at juicing as this is the medicine I need and in my mind they didn’t need medicine.  I still had that doctor mentality; this is to help me get well as opposed to help me maintain health.  Today, I know it’s because of your site and a few of the others, I realized that it’s not just for people who are sick wanting to get well but its for anyone who wants to experience life to the fullest.

Drew:  I think you hit the nail on the head with that.  Many people wait, they eat the processed foods and they get overweight and then by the time disease sets in because we’re born with cancer, we’re born with disease and throughout our whole life we can either give our body things that will refute it and create living cells or we can destroy the living cells that we have and go into sickness.

People that are out there that aren’t quite – I’m perfectly healthy, I’m extremely healthy but still I juice sometimes twice a day, 2-3 times a day and it’s because I no long term I’d rather pay for my health now than six months later.  I think that’s where you are on your journey today.

Roslyn:  That’s where I am now.

Drew:  I would bet, listening to you and we can go there because you already brought it up and I’m a spiritual guy and I believe in God and everything else.  You talked about God and the relationship that you have with divinity.  Do you feel like your relationship with spirit or the universe, whatever anybody wants to call it because everybody has their own individual idea of God and they do as medicine?  Do you think your connection to that has maybe grown a little bit through this process?  Do you feel like you’re more connected?

Roslyn:  I know that my faith in God is at a higher level.  More connected may be one way of saying it but for me it is Jesus who I look to for my guidance.  What I knew back then in 2008 was – I go to church every Sunday, I lift my hands and I say how great and wonderful you are, I know that you can do all things but I’m not seeing it in my life so I’m going to need you to show me what I need to do differently.

You may not want to use this part on your list or whatever, in a dream I got the juicing and I got the company to buy my vitamins from, [indiscernible].  The next day they both came into my life and that’s how I started the process.

Drew:  Let me backtrack.  This goes with anything even outside of having faith in God or whatever your belief is.  It’s that you had faith first is what made that possible.  You had the faith and that materialized in your experience.

Roslyn:  Right, and now I can say it is because I had the faith – I can’t really say that its stronger, I don’t remember your words for it, but I can say I have the testimony so say yes it is what I already believe it to be.

Drew:  I just know from a scientific standpoint when we take vegetables and fruits and we break them down into a juice form and this has been studied throughout the ages, thousands and thousands of years even before Christ, people were juicing.  The Aztecs, the Egyptians, all the Typographies was huge into juicing, he said, ‘Let thy food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”  There’s a reason for that.

From a very spiritual perspective when you take juice and you break it down into its purest form and you get all the enzymes and you break the cell wall you’re actually increasing the vibration of what you’re putting in your body and when we increase our vibration we may not see it in a material form, I can’t see that you’re energy is going up – people in America will call it energy, people in China, Japan will call it Chi, in Araveta they have different names for energy.

When we drink fruit juices our vibration increases and when our vibration increase we’re emitting a stronger signal, people know that’s the law of attraction.  The stronger signal that we put out the more we can materialize because we’re elevated and we’re able to bring more into our experience.

That is what happened, you had the dream, you had the faith that it was going to be placed in your experience, you started it and now I would bet, I would really, really like to see some of the – we could even call them miracles that you’re creating every single day in your life because you had that faith; then you had that faith, now that faith has evolved, your connection is stronger and now you’re basically on a phone call with me and this really has the ability to impact thousands of people.  How do you feel about that?

Roslyn:  Right before we set up the time to call I was like something is really going on here and it’s bigger than me.  I believe that what we go through is always used to help someone else, it’s never just for me to have a happier life, it’s just for Roslyn, it’s for whoever will listen, whoever will hear it to receive it and believe and experience it as well.

Drew:  That’s powerful.  One of my friends, Frank Shidler, he’s one of my best friends and he’s one of the wisest men I know and he always tell me ‘what blesses one blesses all’.  If we go about our days wanting things for me, me, me, maybe we’ll get a part of that but when we can wake up every morning we can say how can I impact somebody else, what am I going do today.  That’s exactly the mentality you have to have this morning and that’s why we’re on the phone.  I think it’s incredible, Roslyn.  You are an amazing being and I appreciate all of your time on this call today. I’d love to have you back on the show, I think this is cool.

Roslyn:  Thank you, I’d love to come back any time.  Your site is part of my daily routine now.  I spend time with God, do my little workout and then come see what Drew is talking about.  It’s always good to connect with those who are living to give to others as opposed to living to get for themselves.

Drew:  When I say we’re in this together do you really feel like that?

Roslyn:  Yes, absolutely.  I love that.

Drew:  Like I said, I’m going to give you access to the membership website, we have a private membership Facebook page too, people that are going through things and that you can be a shining light on there and really impact a lot of people and maybe get some more information so I’m going to send that over to you right away.

Anybody that is listening to this, I don’t know if you want people reaching out to you Roslyn, I can put your page below this if you want me to.  What are your thoughts on that?

Roslyn:  Yes, absolutely.  I only paused because I’m not really sure of my time commitment to answer on a daily basis.

Drew:  If you do reach out to Roslyn know that eventually she’ll probably get back to you but it may not be within 24-48 hours.  She’s busy, she’s a physician, anesthesiologist, which is so cool, I didn’t know that when I called you but that just makes your whole story that much better.  I love it.  Thank you.  I’m going to follow along on your journey too; you’re down nine pounds, what’s your goal, where do you want to be?

Roslyn:  My goal for the end of this year – maybe you can tell me if I’m being realistic or not because I wanted to be down 30 pounds.

Drew:  Okay, perfectly realistic.

Roslyn:  So we have three months and I figured 10 pounds a months I can do that.

Drew:  As much as you want to lose, and they say this, I’ve seen dramatic weight loss even more than that.  Science says around 2-2.5 pounds you can lose in a week and not gain it back.  I think juicing can allow you to definitely do that and exceed a little bit more from the case studies that I’ve seen.  I think you’re perfectly within reason to be down 30 pounds by the end of the year.  I think we have more than enough time.  I would be willing to help you facilitate that.  If you have any questions or you need my team’s help at FitLife.TV we can help you with that transformation too.

Roslyn:  Thank you so much.  I look forward to working with you guys.

Drew:  Absolutely.  Roslyn, enjoy the day.  Check us out on Facebook if you’re listening to this, it’s Facebook.com/VegetableJuicing we’ll leave a little link below that and Roslyn’s information.  I may have one of my writers write up this audio recording so if you’re listening to it you can read below some of the highlights of the conversation too.  I appreciate you, Roslyn and anybody else that’s listening to this.  Remember, we’re in this together.  We’ll see you soon.
