“There are only two or three human stories, and they go on repeating
themselves as fiercely as if they had never happened before.”
– Willa Cather
Everybody LOVES superheros!
The reality is – YOU ARE A SUPERHERO!
You have a million years of organic intelligence in that meat suit you’re wearing right now!!!
I want to show you how to use your superhuman potential in this weeks Mindset Monday… let’s do this!
Question for you: Have you ever wanted to be a superhero?
Be honest… I bet most of you will say yes…
Ever since I was a kid, I have had this fascination with superheroes. Not only are they super cool and ripped, they also have all the personality traits I looked up to – as a young boy and as an adult!
In 5th grade, I used to run around on the playground and pretend I could fly through the air and shoot webs out of my hands. I wanted to be a superhero!
When I was pretending to be a superhero, I had so much courage. When I was in my superhero mindset, I wasn’t afraid to face danger, I had the conviction that what I believed was right and purposeful.
As a kid, I probably wouldn’t have articulated this all to you clearly, but I definitely knew that being a superhero was something I wanted for myself.
As I reached adulthood, it became more and more apparent to me that I wouldn’t be saving the world from Godzilla, but I could make a difference in many other ways.
I realized that I could be a superhero by simply making the effort to being the greatest superhero version of myself each and every day.
Helping people as much as I can and trying to be a face for good in the world is what gives me purpose and motivates me to strive for more.
At Fitlife, we’ve impacted over 2 million people so far and we still have a long ways to go…
So maybe I can’t fly or see through walls. I can’t shoot webs out of my hands or lasers out of my eyes… but in real life, I strive to be the closest thing to superman I can be.
And you can too!
Ask yourself this: What can I do today to make an impact? How can WE ALL rise up and become our own superhero? For ourselves and for those around us…
For me, it’s constantly creating awareness around my thoughts and actions. I work each day to act with compassion and to give of myself in the best way I know how while always thinking of the greater good.
In the process, you end up becoming the version of yourself you have always wanted to be. The idealized version of yourself that you are proud to be and the kind of person people are proud to know.
What is the fastest way to become your own superhero?
This whole ‘trying to be a superhero’ thing is a hack for discovering your greatest potential, which is why I felt compelled to share this information with you.
So how can you become this superhero version of yourself?
I have 3 simple steps for you:
1. Create a superhero vision for your life
4 years ago, I went through what I call the WhyDentity process– this is taking your WHY and pairing it with your Identity, who you are at your core.
Doing this helps you to get really clear about what you want in life and what you are striving for on a daily basis.
Every superhero needs a vision.
This superhero vision has to be a core component to your life, your existence.
Get creative and take some time to really think about what your superhero vision is.
In this vision, describe in depth what a day in your life would look like if you could do or be anything. We’re talking real life here, so like I said before – saving the world from Godzilla isn’t necessary, but maybe saving the world from climate change could be?
The key is to be creative and really ask yourself if I could create anything what would I create?
What would your idealized version of your life look like, act like, do on a daily basis?
Your homework is to get at least a paragraph written down describing this in as much detail as possible. What does your vision look like?
2. Create a superhero code of conduct for that vision.
These are the principals that you live by.
How you act every single day.
Give some words to it!
If you were going to live out that idealized version of your superhero life, who would you have to be? What personality traits would need to become more pronounced?
What would you need to stop doing today?
What would you need to start doing?
And what would you need to continue doing?
Get at least another paragraph written answering those questions and outlining your superhero personality. This personality is going to be an indicator of your integrity. If you act like the superhero you know deep down that you are, than you are showing high integrity. If not, you know you are cheating yourself and the world of the superhero version of you.
3. Create daily rituals to make this a reality
Now that you know what you want your superhero life to look like and you have your superhero personality, the final step is ritualizing all of this into daily actions.
If you were to live this life and take on this personality, what rituals would you need to do every day?
What actions could you take to guarantee that your vision becomes a reality?
This is where it gets fun, my friend.
Reverse engineer where you want to go, who you want to be and then start taking actions that are in alignment with your vision. When you follow this simple 3 step formula, you can become the superhero version of yourself that you have always wanted to be. It’s just the matter of resourcefulness. How resourceful can you be in your attempts to make this a reality?
The final action item is to write out some of these rituals and see how they fit into your daily schedule.
What repeatable actions need to be on your to-do list or calendar every day? This could start as being something as simple as drinking a green juice a day or practicing gratitude daily. Baby steps will make you massive long term progress.
There is no pressure here, my friend. This process should be fun, so remember to smile and enjoy doing the 3 steps.
Remember, superheros come in all forms. You may be personifying the ultimate superhero by being the best parent imaginable or maybe you dedicate your life to finding a cure to cancer. Both lifestyles are admirable if you do them with full intention and present the best version of yourself to the world everyday.
Finally, this doesn’t need to look a certain way. My only goal is to challenge you to always strive to be YOUR personal best. That is all you can ever ask of yourself.
Helen Keller was once asked what on earth would be worse than being born blind?
She said, “It would be much worse to be born with sight but no vision.”
It’s time to get clear on this. I promise, life is much more enjoyable when you begin aligning your actions with your authentic self.
Have fun, superhero!
P.S. If you really want, you can come up with a superhero name for yourself. Up to you if you share it with others or not. 😉 What do you think my superhero name should be? Comment below!

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
