Want to love the skin you’re in and create a natural glow? You won’t even need to head to the beauty department to invest in the new expensive moisturizer! It all starts with nurturing your skin from the inside out.

Your skin in your largest organ and renews itself every 28 days. How amazing is that! Therefore, if you suffer from any skin conditions such as rashes, dry skin, or acne, making shifts in your food choices can give the appearance of your skin a healthy boost!

Here are three steps to get your glow started:

1. Feed Your Skin Well – Just like your body reacts and functions according to what you eat, your skin does as well. Not only does processed “junk” food lead to weight gain and feeling lethargic, it can also wreak havoc on your complexion.

Try cutting these three elements out of your diet for a two week trial period and you may just start noticing your skin issues completely clearing up! This leads to inflammation both in your body and on your skin in the form of acne and other disturbances.

2. Get Good Fats – Essential fatty acids (EFA’s) aka “good fat,” help keep your skin hydrated and “plump” (which in turn minimizes wrinkles). Since your body does not naturally make these fats, it is important that you get them in your diet by eating the right things like coconut oil, salmon, flax seeds, eggs and sardines. If you skin is dry, irritated, inflamed, or acne prone, it may be a sign that you aren’t getting enough EFA’s!
