All Salts are NOT Created Equally

To most people, salt is just salt. I am here to tell you that is so far from the truth.
All salts are not created equally. Table salt is highly processed, while himalayan salt is a nutrient powerhouse. Salt is essential for a person’s life; you can’t live without it, so it’s important to choose the right kind.
Table salt is a refined salt, meaning it has been stripped of its minerals during processing. The minerals that have been removed help balance blood pressure, but without them, table salt causes blood pressure fluctuations instead of stabilization.
A better option than table salt is sea salt, which, in its unrefined and unadulterated state, boasts benefits, including its selenium content, which helps to eliminate toxic-heavy metals from the body. It also contains boron, which helps prevent osteoporosis and chromium, which also regulates blood sugar levels. Small quantities of sea salt can lower blood pressure because of the trace minerals it provides that aid in blood pressure regulation. Sea salt is, however, becoming increasingly over processed.
Superior to sea salt is himalayan salt, which is a pink crystal salt directly from the Himalayan Mountains and is the purest salt available. It is loaded with health benefits and is a great alternative to both table and sea salt.
Himalayan salt contains the same 84 trace minerals found in the body, including sulphate, calcium, potassium, sodium, chloride and magnesium. When you use himalayan salt, you are consuming less sodium per serving than regular table salt because it is less refined and the pieces are larger.
Among the top health benefits of himalayan salt are:

1. Muscle cramp prevention
2. Regulates/naturally promotes sleep
3. Supports respiratory health
4. Promotes sinus health
5. Promotes bone strength
6. Promotes a healthy pH balance in your cells, particularly your brain cells
7. Regulates water content throughout your body
8. Promotes healthy blood sugar levels, thus reducing signs of aging
9. Regulates blood pressure
10. Detoxifies the body of heavy metals
11. Increases hydration
Give himalayan salt a try and I promise, you won’t be sorry. It’s great for cooking, baking and even sprinkling on snack foods, such as apples or raw nuts.
