A Simple Yet Effective Way to Keep Your Body Clean

What would your house look like if you never cleaned it?
Think about it! If you live a busy life (like most of us do), you don’t always have time to keep your house perfectly clean and 100% organized all of the time. Many people do big cleaning sprees a few times a year or once a month when things pile up. Imagine if you NEVER cleaned your house. After all of these years, what do you think it would look like?
Your real “home,” for as long as you live, is not a brick and mortar house, it is your body.
How many years have you eaten food that doesn’t fuel you? How many years have you clogged up the gears your body needs clean to function at full capacity? Have you gained weight, lost energy and vibrancy and diminished your physical abilities? These symptoms are likely because you haven’t properly – and regularly – cleaned your home.
I have good news though… it is not too late to start now.
Regular, effective detoxing does the body – and the mind – GOOD!
You might be on a new health kick, finally standing up for your worth and deciding to turn the page on your old habits. You may just be curious as to what being “healthy” really means, so you’re doing some research to learn more (high five to you!). Or maybe you are on the road to abundance of health and wellness. No matter where you are at in your journey, you will benefit from understanding the concept of detoxing and using it to continuously clean your body, from the inside out.
If you are just starting out, you may want to start slower with detoxing and eating clean and that’s okay! Some people don’t do well going straight from junk and deep fried foods to drinking juice and eating an abundance of fruits and vegetables. If you need to take it slow, please do. Listen to the messages your body is sending you. The truth is, you may feel really bad for a few days when you stop eating all the junk you’ve grown accustomed to and move straight to eating clean, consuming more vegetables and fruit. This is temporary and is common as your body cleans out the junk clogging your internal system.
So many people assume that fruits and vegetables don’t work for their body, but that is not true. Many times, there is so much muck stuck in your intestines from the years of eating low nutrient foods, that when the high nutrient foods enter your body, they are doing their best to clean out all of the junk stuck in there as quickly as possible. This process is simply your body’s way of releasing those old, mucky toxins, which can produce initial symptoms of detox – much like dust coming off furniture you’ve neglected to clean.
It is all good though. You need to clear that out! This is where healing happens.
Imagine getting yourself to a point where it is no longer “detoxing”, it is simply your way of life. You wake up every single day feeling incredible and unstoppable. And you no longer crave food that isn’t fueling you with pure, powerful energy.
Imagine never getting bloated, tired or sluggish after eating.

You can have that! It all starts with detoxing and feeding your body what it needs to thrive.
Why do we eat food? Seriously.
WE EAT FOR ENERGY.
The role of food is to fuel us and give us energy to prosper each day. Does the food you eat fuel you or fight against you? After eating a meal do you feel tired, bloated and heavy? Does it make you foggy and sluggish and ultimately upset your digestion? If you answered yes, you probably aren’t eating the right things for your unique body.
Each cell in your body runs off of glucose, which is used for energy. The foods that create glucose for your trillions of cells are natural foods from the ground: fruits, vegetables, legumes and grains. Theses are complex carbohydrates that slowly release the glucose so that your body has a prolonged source of pure energy. Nature has loaded these foods with so many nutrients, enzymes, vitamins and minerals that work together to give your body an abundance of health.
This is the type of food that fuels you!
You might be thinking, “Okay, this all sounds wonderful and it is making sense, but how do I detox?”
Remember that to form a habit, you need to do something every day for a set period of time (21-30 days has been shown to be the magic duration to create habits). So if your end goal is to live a healthy lifestyle, but you are afraid of going all in and then falling off, start with one healthy habit upgrade.
Start with a juice, smoothie or fruit/veggie meal for breakfast. Once you cannot go without it because it makes you feel so good, add a green smoothie for lunch. Start adding salads for snacks or before dinner.

You don’t need to feel bloated, sluggish or badly after eating. When you start taking proper care of your body by detoxing consistently until you generate a new lifestyle, you increase your self-love and value. It is one of the most life transforming things you can do that results in things that extend beyond health and image and illuminates every other area of your life.
Your body is your only permanent home, so take care of it. Be grateful for all of the things it can do and commit to feeding yourself food that fuels you and helps you thrive.
