9 Cheat Treats Made With Healthy Alternatives
Written by: Brandon Epstein
Do you ever deal with late night junk food cravings?
Well, I deal with morning, late morning, afternoon, late afternoon, evening and late night junk food cravings, so I have devised a solution to squash ALL cravings.
The solution is to find a way to make cheat meals healthy.
You will notice that this is not your normal list of healthy desserts that are labeled vegan or organic, but still chalked full of sugar.
You are really going to get some solutions to your junk food cravings that would get the thumbs up from any trained dietician who is helping you through a weight loss program.
The key to this list lies in portion control. Quinoa, for example, is super healthy, but if you eat 5,000 calories of quinoa, you will still be eating too many calories to expect to lose any weight.
Take the recipes below and enjoy them in moderation and don’t be afraid to have fun with them!
9 Cheat Meals With Healthy Alternatives:
1. Black Bean Brownies
The key to all these healthy recipes is making sure there are complex carbs intertwined into these traditional desserts. In this recipe, you can take black beans (a super complex carbohydrate) and use them to turn this cheat treat into a healthy snack.
2. Chia Tapioca Pudding
This is probably the most simple recipe on this list, but it’s also one of the most delicious. Click the link to follow the 3 step formula to tapioca heaven.
3. Avocado Chocolate Bread
Superfoods and bread in the same sentence… crazy, right? When you use almond flour, it’s all good. Check out this yummy recipe for a guilt-free decadent dessert.
4. Chocolate Spinach Brownies With Peanut Butter Frosting
I would have never thought spinach and chocolate would ever taste good in the same recipe, but I have officially been proven wrong. This recipe combines your favorite sweets with some super healthy vegetables to over deliver on flavor and nutrients.
5. Sweet Potato Chocolate Pudding
Sweet potatoes are one of the healthiest superfoods out there and when you whip them up into some pudding with chocolate, they somehow get even better. Try this recipe out for taking care of that sweet tooth of yours.
6. Quinoa Almond Joy Bars
Do you like Almond Joy bars? If so, you will love this recipe. Using quinoa in this dessert-turned-health-food is nothing short of genius!

8. Blueberry Almond Protein Pancakes
These pancakes are the epitome of decadence. Think blueberry pancakes, plus almonds, plus the fact that they are 100% healthy for you. Doesn’t get much better than that.
9. Chocolate Crunch Protein Pancakes
These chocolate crunch protein pancakes get their crunch from the raw cacao the recipe recommends. These take a little bit of prep, but they are so worth it!
The key to snacking healthy is being creative. Try some of these recipes out this week and see what you’ve been missing!
