8 Delicious Fresh Fruit Juices To Try This Summer
Written by: Kat Gal
Do you know how much sugar is in commercial juice drinks?
I don’t want to know. You may say that. But you can’t live in denial. Learn the facts first, then I will show you some healthy alternative fruit juice drinks that can transform your life.
Mott’s 100% apple juice may be your childhood favorite, but it is not exactly healthy. A toddler size (4 oz) of Mott’s has 15 grams of sugar in it. That’s about 4 packs! If you go for the tall (8 oz), you will be drinking 28 grams or 7 packs of sugar. Not to mention that it is not even 100% natural fruit juice, but made from concentrate and preservatives.
How about your morning OJ? A tall (8 oz) Tropicana orange juice contains 22 grams of sugar. That’s 5.5 packs. And nope, it’s not fresh nor 100% natural juice either.
How much fruit juice do you drink a day? How much fruit juice does your child drink?
It can be scary to think about how much sugar an average American child or adult drinks just by drinking a seemingly healthy fruit juice drink.
Commercial fruit juice drinks are also pasteurized for a longer shelf-life. They are usually made from concentrate. Some have never seen an actual fruit in their life, but are actually made from artificial ingredients and processed sugar. They are highly acidic, fill up your body with artificial toxic chemicals, are bad for your digestion and can lead to inflammation and disease.
Are 100% natural fruit juices better?
If you make your own juice (using a juicer), you will be getting nutrients from real fruits. However, making a 100% fruit juice should only be a yummy occasional treat. Natural fruit juices are still high in sugar – even if it’s natural sugar – and spike your blood sugar, which can lead to sugar crashes and potential inflammation.
It is best to consume fruits as a whole. The fiber content helps your digestion and slows down the sugar entering your system. You will benefit from all the healthy vitamins without going into a sugar coma or encountering other health issues.
If you are looking for a delicious 100% natural juice, you should go for blended fruit juices. Using whole fruits blended up in a blender, maybe mixed with a little water or coconut water, keeps the fiber content and fills your body with nourishment.
Here are 8 delicious fresh fruit juices to try this summer:

4. Blend 1 ripe banana, 1 cup of pineapple, ½ cup of coconut water and a few ice cubes for some tropical magic.
