6 Steps To Find Happiness Right NOW – Mindset Monday

Are you not living the life you imagined – and now you’re suffering because of it?
What if you could have pure happiness right now, regardless of what achievement you hit or where you’re currently at?
Well, I have good news. You can.
Keep reading for practical tips on feeling good during the in-between because the truth is, the in-between is where life happens and it’s up to you to make it magical.
Do any of these sound like things you may say to yourself at times…
If I were wealthier and healthier, I’d be happy…
When I have this degree or credential, then I’ll pursue my dreams…
When I’m this weight, I’ll buy the dress, or go on the date, or take that vacation where I have to wear my swim suit…
These statements and statements like them keep you waiting to live.
They rely on the idea that happiness is the next place, next job, next move, next romantic partner, or next benchmark in your personal development or your health. This does nothing but set you up for short term gratification at best and denies you of long term happiness.
If you’re ready to start living and fully enjoying your life where you’re at today, then adopt these principlesbelow:
1) Take responsibility for your internal state.
Blaming your unhappiness on external circumstances disregards the common denominator that’s in every situation you encounter – and that common denominator is YOU.
You have to take yourself wherever you go. That means you have to take yourself to your next job, relationship, house, vacation, weight, etc. If you’re in turmoil now where you’re at, you’re going to take it to the next destination too.
2) Practice gratitude.
Be thankful for what you do have and how far you’ve come. This shifts you from a lack mindset to a place of abundance. As your focus shifts to a place of abundance, you will attract more into your life.
3) Set intentions that inspire you.
There is nothing wrong with goals and creating an incredible vision for your life, the trick is to pursue them with inspired action versus coming from a place of lack and struggle and to enjoy the moments in between the destinations.
4) Be present.
Be here now. Waiting until the future to fully experience life causes you to miss out on the beauty of the day. What do you love about this moment? What can you pay attention to? Where do you see beauty around you? Enjoy the little ordinary moments in life for all that they are; that’s where the magic happens.
5) Practice connecting.
Surround yourself with loved ones that lift you up instead of drag you down. Connect with those that keep you grounded but also take a stand and commit to being the highest version of yourself. When you’re with these people, focus on your presence and connecting with your heart open. What’s there to learn from them? How can you love them more? How can you serve them? How can you connect deeper?
6) Choose movement and fuel that makes you feel good.
You have this one life to live. Would you rather live it feeling incredible or feeling lethargic, with diminished mental clarity. Your body’s physiology matters and greatly impacts how you experience your life.
At the end of the day you always have a choice. You can’t always control what’s going on around you, but you can do the inner work to find peace and joy regardless of the circumstances.
