You’ve heard me talk about the importance of Self-Love in your life, but what does that mean, exactly?
There are 5 main componentsthat I believe are the key to happiness and success when it comes to cultivating all that you want and desire in this life.
And they don’t have to be complicated either.
When creating new habits, it’s important to know WHY you are doing so. So first, I want you to close your eyes and visualize the life you WANT.
What does it look like? Feel like? Smell like? Taste like? Who are you surrounded by?
Keep that image in your mind. Write these things down. Create a vision board. Because the truth is, you CAN have all of that and more! And it starts with your ability and willingness to see yourself as worthy of these things. And then your commitment to take action to make them a reality.
What it boils down to is: SELF-LOVE.
Here are 5 ways to demonstrate MORE Self-Love in your life right now.
1. Loving Thoughts
We are what we think we are. It’s time to stop the cycle of negative self-talk and remember that you are the child of a magnificent universe. Your imperfections are gifts bestowed upon you to share with the world. Everything that you are serves a purpose and it’s up to you to find out what that is.
This can be really hard to do at first, but in the morning, I want you to look in the mirror and tell yourself how much you love yourself. Use I AM statements. Speak in the present tense as if these things already are.
I AM beautiful.
I AM worthy.
I AM living an abundant life.
I love my body.
And so on…
2. Loving Habits
I love to start my day with gratitude. Even if you only have 5 minutes, invest this time into finding the beauty in everything and everyone around you – including yourself.
Prayeris another practice that I find incredibly therapeutic. Whatever you consider to be enlightening to your spirit, do that! And often.
Exercise is a non-negotiable in my life. It gets your endorphins pumping, helps stimulate your lymphatic system for detoxification, improves your mood, energy and overall health. A simple walk is great! Start with where you’re at and aim to be better each day. Overtime, you’ll notice yourself able to do things you previously could not. Your endurance will improve. And chances are, you will begin to LOVE the way you feel even more so.
Eat clean and drink more green juice. Alkalizing your body and decreasing the inflammation that so many people deal with daily benefits not only your body inside, but your outside too! Your skin begins to glow, your eyes become brighter and you begin to radiate the love and joy I know you have within.
3. Loving Relationships
The old saying, treat others how you wish to be treated is exactly what I want to encourage you to focus on. That and the fact that relationships of all kinds deserve to be nurtured. And that, too, goes back to your relationship with yourself.
We teach others how to treat us. Does that mean it’s our fault when someone hurts us? No, not necessarily. But if we allow it to continue happening, we become an enabler to behavior that doesn’t serve our higher self. And that’s not love.
Think about the person that you love more than anything. Your parents. Your spouse. Your kids. How do you want them to feel when they are with you? Do you want them to feel loved? Supported? Respected? Or do you want them to feel ridiculed? I think the answer is pretty clear. You want them to feel AMAZING because they are. And so are you. You deserve that same love in return.
That said, love without conditions. Love because LOVE is WHO you are. And everyone could use more of this in their lives. Everyone is worthy and deserving of this gift.
4. Loving Finances
I remember being in a place where I had very little money in my bank account, but I was torn between saving what I could and spending what I had in order to keep up with people around me.
It was a terrible feeling, but I had a choice. Ultimately, I chose ME and decided that I was worth loving myself in this way too.
Money is energy. The exchange of it is nothing more than that.
When we forget about our responsibilities to try and fill a void we are feeling elsewhere, we suffer. And for some, they suffer BIG TIME. It doesn’t have to be this way though.
5. Loving Self-Care
Spend some time on yourself in the mornings. Take a shower, brush your teeth, comb your hair – do what makes you feel good. This is showing love to your body.
Your body is a gift and it is your home. It does so much more for you than you can possibly imagine. Embrace it and let yourself feel free in your own skin.
Leave the house wearing that outfit that boosts your self-esteem, pull out those shoes that bring out your confidence, keep yourself hydrated throughout the day, make sure you’re getting in the nutrients you need – take care of YOU.
And at the end of the day, be sure to give yourself some time to wind down. Develop a nighttime routine. Get into comfortable clothes, do something that helps you to relax – read, do yoga, meditate, take a hot bath, etc. – get out a pen and paper and write down anything that may be weighing on your mind so that you can go to bed feeling all the lighter. And then let yourself get some SLEEP. You work hard and the days are long – you deserve a good night’s rest.
Now think about the qualities of love, write them down, think of your experiences with it and then start to see the future you demonstrated in real time as such. Visualization is a powerful tool and if you utilize it daily, dedicating it to the YOU that you want to become and acting on it, you will find that your body, mind and spirit will begin to align.
I love you and I know you love who you are when all the clutter and all the illusion of the material experience that we live in fades away and you become the real you.

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
