5 Foods That Are Making You Fat, Sick And Tired

Do you keep trying to lose weight, but are just too TIRED to follow your goals? Do you want to go to the gym on a regular basis, but feel too WEAK to get a good workout? Are your moods all over the place and making it hard to commit to a healthier lifestyle?

Nobody wants to be overweight, sick and tired all the time…and most people have a general idea of what they need to do in order to change. But a lot of people get tripped up because they simply don’t feel well enough to put energy into making changes.

There are a many misleading foods on the market that have been confusing dieters for years. These give you the impression that they are harmless and even have the ability to help you lose weight, but in reality they do just the opposite.

Here are the top five:

Diet Soda

Most people think that choosing diet soda is a “healthy” option when compared to calorie-dense beverages, but research doesn’t support this. Studies have found that people who drink two or more diet sodas a day have a waist size increase that is up to SIX TIMES greater than those who don’t.

Diet sodas also contain dangerous artificial sweeteners. Aspartame, for example, has been linked to 92 adverse health effects. Also relying on the caffeine for your daily energy can backfire and make you extra tired once it has worn off.

Conventional Salad Dressing

Are you eating salads every day, but not losing any weight? Your salad dressing might be sabotaging your efforts. Conventional salad dressings contain chemicals called emulsifiers, which are added to improve texture and prevent separation. Research have found that these chemicals have a negative impact on your gut bacteria and also trigger obesity in animal studies.

So instead of buying salad dressings, learn to make your own! It is a lot easier than you think. With a few simple ingredients like olive oil, apple cider vinegar, sea salt and pepper, balsamic vinegar…you can make delicious, clean dressings without any harmful ingredients.

Conventional Meat

Conventional meat almost always comes from animals who were given antibiotics and growth hormones. When you eat their meat, you get a dose of the same medicines…which can have a negative impact on your health.

Studies have linked secondary exposure to antibiotics and growth hormones to obesity and impaired immune system function. So along with your meat you are getting an increased risk of weight gain and a weaker immune system. Not quite what you bargained for!

Opt for antibiotic and hormone-free meats. Organic, grass fed and pasture raised is best.

Did you know that eating refined carbohydrates has the same effect on your body as eating sugar? After eating pasta or other refined carb-heavy foods like bread, muffins and pastries, you will experience a blood-sugar spike. This is followed by a plunge of insulin levels, leaving you feeling heavy and tired.

Processed carbs are absorbed by the body extremely quickly, leading to fat storage and .

Fruit Juice

Fruit juice has very high levels of sugar, sometimes even more than soda. Since the fiber has been removed this sugar enters your bloodstream extremely quickly, leading to blood sugar spikes and weight gain. Eating whole fruits is much better for you. Plus if you eat a serving of fruit you’re usually only eating 1 or 2 whole pieces of fruit, whereas when you drink fruit juice you may be drinking several servings worth of fruit in just a few gulps.

If several of these foods are things you eat on a regular basis, don’t get discouraged! Try to remove one of that at a time, and replacing them with healthier options. Once you get over the initial “withdrawal” period you’ll find that you won’t miss them much. Especially since you will be feeling BETTER and finally hitting your weight loss/management goals!

Remember, we’re in this together.

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
