It’s that time again; you are resolute in your resolutions and have even written them down. You have a game plan in place and this year, you are really going to make those lasting changes to your health.

In an effort to support you this year, I want to discuss 4 transformation mistakes to look out for and the fixes to ensure that you succeed and make it through your journey of change.

First and foremost, please remember that there is no failure in this process, only beautiful opportunities to learn and adjust so that you can come up with a transformation strategy that turns into a lifestyle.

Here are some pitfalls to avoid and ways you can set yourself back up for success:

1. As The Saying Goes, Fail To Plan, Plan To Fail

It is important to have a preparation plan in place. This includes shopping, organization and most importantly, prep work. Without proper preparation, this can lead to hunger and ultimately “less-than-healthy” choices.

How to combat this: Plan to prep a day or two ahead of time. Make extra juice and store it in the freezer. Wash all of your veggies and fruits and separate them for the juice/smoothies you will be making. Be sure you’re favorite healthy snack choices are well stocked up.

2. Hydrate! Hydrate! Hydrate!

It is easy to neglect drinking water when you are drinking juices during your transformation process. It is important to remember that your body is 95% water and in order to have a successful transformation, you need to stay hydrated. Dehydration can lead to cravings, headaches, muscle aches and pains, lethargy and fatigue.

How to combat this: Aim to drink ½ your bodyweight in ounces or more of good clean water per day. If you want to mix it up, also drink herbal tea and broth.

3. Eat Your Whole Fruits And Vegetables

Let’s face it, as you go through your transformation, you will have cravings; you will want that piece of chocolate, those gooey gummy bears, that sweet and decadent piece of cheesecake and those crunchy salt and vinegar kettle cooked chips.

How to combat it: You are committed to this transformation, so instead, reach for whole fruits and veggies. Go for smoothie recipes, soups, salads and full balanced healthy meals. As you make a habit of this, you will find that your old cravings will stop nagging at you so much and could eventually disappear entirely.

4. Having The Best Outlook

If you find yourself faltering and end up falling in a rut, don’t beat yourself up. The key is to dust yourself off and try again.

How to combat this: Keep your transformation in the forefront and focus on what your goal is. A transformation is a process and you have to remember that a process takes time. Be patient with yourself.

If you have any other tips for keeping yourself on your feet throughout your transformation journey, feel free to share with us in the comments below – we love to hear from you!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
