In our modern world, back pain has become a common issue. According to the American Chiropractic Association, more than 50% of the working population suffers from it every year. This problem is the second reason on the list when people want to see their doctor.

Sneaky everyday things that cause you back pain:
When I first heard about this, I didn’t pay any attention to it. I used to suffer from back pain, especially after longer walks. It wasn’t until I switched to backpacks and stopped having back pain that I realized just how detrimental carrying a simple purse can be.
A heavy purse can hinder you posture not only because it inhibits arms to move naturally, which is crucial to having a good gait, but it can cause asymmetry in your muscular system. People usually carry their handbags on their dominant sides and because of this, their muscles on one side become bigger. It can even lead to the situation where one shoulder sits higher than the other.
Your back and neck muscles can also become stiff. You can even get headaches.
The best option to escape from all this nastiness is switching to a backpack. If you love your handbag so much that you can’t live without it, at least reduce its weight and choose the bags with wider strips and switch shoulders often.
David S. Wolf, DPM, a podiatrist from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston says: “Feet are like the foundation of a building… If the feet are mechanically unsound, they can change the alignment of all the structures above them. I often see patients with a mechanically ‘unsound’ foot who are experiencing pain. Wearing shoes that don’t give the proper support can exacerbate the problem.”
The most dangerous shoe types from this aspect are high heels and flip flops. High heels can ruin your body’s natural alignment and therefore, may add an extra stress on the lower back. On the other hand, crocs and flip flops are lacking arch and ankle support, which can lead to pain in various places like in the feet, knees and lower back.
Try to avoid the above-mentioned shoes and instead use running shoes with specially designed inserts and insoles and other type of footwear which can give your feet enough support.
Long hours of sitting can cause lower back pain or worsen any current back problems. Sitting develops stress on the back, shoulders, arms and legs, particularly on back muscles and spinal disks.
Try to escape prolonged static postures by walking, stretching, or at least standing up after every 30 minutes for 1-2 minutes. You can also use a fitness ball instead of a chair or avoid sitting completely by choosing a standing desk.
70-80% of women don’t wear the right bra size, which can cause neck, shoulder and back pain. In addition, it can trigger headaches, heartburn and rashes.
Not wearing or wearing the wrong size sports bra can lead to premature sagging and all of the problems listed above as well.
