Do you want to know what’s in my medicine cabinet?

Food!

That’s right – my kitchen is my medicine cabinet. By eating nutritious, organic whole foods, I am working to practice natural, preventative medicine every day.

And you can too!

There are 4 particular natural medicinal foods that I just can’t live  without – they’ve become bare essentials in my life and are major staples in my regular diet.

Do you want to know what they are?

Here are the 4 most powerful medicinal foods to keep in your kitchen – and your diet – at all times.

#1. Apples

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. You’ve likely heard this all too common statement. And guess what? It may actually be true!

These deliciously sweet fruits:

  • Are excellent for neurological disorders
  • Reduce your risk of stroke
  • May help prevent dementia
  • Reduce your risk of diabetes
  • Lower bad cholesterol

You can eat apples raw as they are or you can add them to your fruit salads or green salads. Apples are a nice addition to your green juices and green smoothies as well. And yes, they are great for raw and baked desserts too! Just make sure to buy them organic, as they are part of the dirty dozen.

#2. Garlic

Garlic may not be a good tool for relationship therapy (brush before you kiss!), but it is most certainly therapeutic for your body.

Garlic is one of those superfoods that:

  • Is great for recovering from a cold
  • Is full of vitamins and minerals
  • Reduces blood pressure
  • Lowers the risk of heart disease
  • Helps you to live longer (full of health and vitality!)

You can use garlic for basically all of your cooking and baking adventures from stir-fries to baked potatoes; from baked veggies to rice dishes; and from soups to stews. You can add them to your salad or your liver-cleansing juices too.

#3. Honey

Pooh Bear was right, honey is certainly yummy. It is also one of the most powerful foods and most impacting antioxidants out there.

This common, yet powerful food:

  • Is antibacterial and antifungal
  • Is great for allergies
  • Boosts your memory
  • Helps colds and coughs
  • Helps you sleep

You can add honey to your teas or lemon water. You can also spread it over a slice of sprouted whole grain bread. It is a great addition to oatmeal, fruit salads, granola, raw desserts, baked desserts and even on pancakes as a replacement for syrup.

#4. Turmeric

Turmeric really is one of the most powerful superherbs out there. It is protective against nearly everything!

This vibrant orange, versatile superherb:

  • Is anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial
  • Improves your brain functions
  • Lowers your risk of heart disease
  • Prevents cancer
  • Is soothing for depression

You can use turmeric as a spice when cooking. You can add it to your juices or smoothies. You can also make a turmeric tea with it. You can also supplement with it to reap the benefits, just be sure you opt for a full spectrum source, like Fitlife’s newest addition (stay tuned for details on Daily Turmeric Boost).

Do you already use these 4 incredible foods in your diet? Please share with us your favorite way to do so in the comments below! If you don’t yet, you’re in for an amazing treat!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
