3-Step Halloween Hangover Solution

Too many Halloween cocktails often means that the following day is full of bad decisions for your health – greasy eggs and bacon, fast-food, soda, whatever is convenient and satisfies your intense hangover-fueled cravings.

The ultimate goal is to go into your parties with a plan: eat well leading up to the party and stay hydrated while there with a tall glass of water in between each drink.

Assuming you are here because that didn’t happen, however – here are a few quick tips to get you back on the path to feeling good and minimizing the poor food decisions!

1. Oil Pull – Oil pulling is the process of swishing quality oil around in your mouth before brushing your teeth. Based on the principle of “like dissolves like,” the oil cuts through plaque to remove harmful bacteria in the mouth.

The key here in this case is that the oil also helps to pull that nasty alcohol aftertaste from your mouth.

To pull: Scoop out a spoonful of coconut oil and drop it in your mouth. Swish around for 15-20 minutes; push and pull the oil around your gums, cheeks and in between your teeth.

When done, spit it out into the trash, rinse with warm water and brush your teeth. It’s really important that you don’t swallow this oil, because it is holding onto all the bacteria and nasties it pulled from your mouth!

2. Drink As Much Lemon Water As You Can – When you started drinking last night, your liver started filtering alcohol out of your system – and it’s still going this morning! It’s also SUPER dehydrated.

Water with lemon will not only hydrate you, but it will also give your liver a detoxing boost. Dandelion root tea and green juices are also fabulous detoxers and worth having a few cups of!

3. Sweat Out The Toxins – Exercise releases endorphins (the “feel good” hormones) and stimulates your lymphatic system to release toxins (AKA the alcohol you drank last night).

Can’t commit to this one? Replace the exercise with B-vitamins. After a night of drinking, your vitamins are depleted and B-vitamins are especially important for an effective liver detox. Take 1-2 B-complex vitamins.

There are many awesome ways to naturally beat the dreaded hangover. This is my protocol when I need it and it has done wonders for me – I hope it helps you too! Let us know how it works out after all the Halloween festivities are over!

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
