3 Smoothies Recipes Even Your Mother Will Love

When my meat and potatoes, Standard American Diet-eating mom asked for smoothie recipes, I was blown away.

I had just come back from a week with my parents during the holidays. Because I drove the 12 hours from North Carolina to New Hampshire, I had the opportunity to bring my Vitamix – my most treasured health aide – with me on my trip home.

Every morning I spent with my parents, I made a smoothie and offered my mom a sip. On day 3, she asked me if I would make her a smoothie. Ummm… obviously, ma! I would LOVE to make you a smoothie. She drank a smoothie with me every day and on my way to the airport, she texted me to let me know that she had ordered herself a Vitamix so she could start making smoothies regularly.

Victory!

Smoothies are the ultimate meal-on-the-go. Easy to make and quick to drink, they are chock-full of nutrients and a great option first thing in the morning. You can guzzle down some liquid nutrition, while fueling your cells for your day ahead, completely guilt-free!

So you can see why I wanted my near-50, super busy mom who works as an EMT, firefighter and EMS trainer, to start incorporating them into her diet.

The following three recipes are not only delicious, but they are mom taste-tested and approved!
