How many places have you lived in the past year? 1? 2?

I’ve lived in 10.

I had the pleasure of backpacking throughout Europe, living with different families and sharing both the kitchen and dining room table with many people. I saw first hand the habits, ingredients and daily diets of each home.

The more I traveled, the more I learned that many people aren’t aware that there are healthier options for everyday things they use, such as using Pink Himalayan Sea Salt versus regular table salt. Since I prefer to use certain ingredients over others, I would purchase items in each new place I lived – which always led to curiosity and me being asked, “WHAT IS THAT?”

I’ve always been an advocate for making simple and healthy upgrades to my life. If there is a more healthy way of doing something OR a more efficient way to achieve the result I desire… I’m all for it!

Here are 3 simple kitchen swaps that you can utilize to massively improve your health. The best part is is that, in most cases, you may not even notice a huge difference in the taste or texture. However, there is a huge hidden difference in the health benefits you will reap by using the healthier option.

Let’s take a look at what they are!

SWAP #1

Use Coconut Oil (instead of other oils such as olive or vegetable).

The benefits of using Coconut Oil are:

Contains fatty acids with powerful medicinal properties. Increases your energy expenditure.
Helps you burn more fat. The lauric acid kills bacteria, viruses and fungi.
Reduces appetite (which can help with weight loss). The fatty acids boost brain function.
Improves blood cholesterol levels. Reduces your risk for heart disease.

HOW to use coconut oil in your kitchen:

  • Sauteing and pan searing
  • Blend it into your coffee
  • Use it in baking (instead of vegetable oil or butter)
  • Supercharge your smoothie (blend it with fresh vegetables and fruits)
  • Grease cookie sheets
  • Mix it in with salad dressings
  • Roasting vegetables

SWAP #2

Use Pink Himalayan Sea Salt (instead of regular table salt).

The benefits of using Pink Himalayan Sea Salt are:

Balances pH level of your body. Improves circulation.
Creates an electrolyte balance. Strengthens bones.
Lowers blood pressure. Helps the intestines absorb nutrients.

SWAP #3

Use Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV).

The benefits of using Apple Cider Vinegar:

Can help with weight loss by increasing feelings of fullness. Is beneficial for heart health: lowers cholesterol and reduces blood pressure.
Lowers blood sugar levels. Can help kill pathogens, including bacteria.
Full of probiotics and other beneficial bacteria. Supports immune function.
Can help with constipation. Balances your body’s pH.
Helps with detox. Balances your inner body system.

HOW to use Apple Cider Vinegar in your kitchen:

  • Use as a salad dressing with balsamic vinegar
  • Clean with it – it makes a natural and effective disinfectant!
  • Mix with sparkling water for a liver cleansing tonic
  • Add a splash to your morning smoothie
  • Clean your produce to remove pesticides (use a spray bottle of pure ACV)
  • Soothe your throat by gargling a 50/50 mixture of ACV and water

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
