3 Popular Teas You Should Try

Written by: Brandi Monasco

Do you like to sit down with a warm cup of tea on a cold night?

What’s your favorite? Chamomile? Green tea?

Whichever kind you like to drink, warm tea makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And while you’re enjoying your tea, it is doing amazing things for your body.

Each tea is different and contains unique properties that work in some way to help your body.

Here is a rundown of three popular teas and exactly how they can help benefit your body.

#1. Black Tea

Black tea is rich with antioxidants. These antioxidants are called polyphenols, which help to block damage in your body caused by free radicals in the environment. If enjoyed on a regular basis, black tea can also help with coronary artery dysfunctions in heart patients and can help many people have a reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Black tea is also a good remedy for digestive problems. It contains tannins and other natural chemicals that can help relax your digestive system. Black tea also contains an anti-inflammatory property that can help ease the symptoms of digestive issues.

Many people simply like to add some sort of sugar to their black tea (we suggest finding a healthy substitute). Others like to use a milk alternative and even spices or chocolate to brighten up their black tea.

#2. Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea has many properties, including antispasmodic, antibacterial and antifungal properties. The antispasmodic property helps ease stomach aches. It works by relaxing your stomach muscles and the lining of your intestines.

The antibacterial property works by relieving cold symptoms and can also help prevent colds altogether. The antibacterial property also helps increase your immunity to help your body fight against any bacteria that could leave you sick.

The best way to drink chamomile tea is to sweeten it a bit with a teaspoon or two of raw honey. Not only will get you the benefits of the chamomile tea, but you will also get the added benefits of honey.

#3. Ginger Tea

Ginger itself contains many properties that are great for your body and making it into a tea provides even more benefits. Ginger tea is loaded with high levels of vitamin C and magnesium. If you suffer from nausea, drinking a cup of ginger tea can help. You can also drink ginger tea before traveling if you struggle with motion sickness.

Ginger tea also has a high level of antioxidants, which can help strengthen your immune system when you drink it on a regular basis. This tea also has calming properties that can help you to lower tension and stress after a rough day.

To make ginger tea, chop up an unpeeled 2-inch piece of ginger root and bring it to a boil in a 2 quart pot of water. Once the water has began to boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
