10 Home Remedies To Reduce Gum Swelling And Gum Pain In Minutes

A Cold Compress
Cold compresses can provide quick relief for sore or swollen gums. Cold compress not only help to reduce pain they also help prevent and reduce swelling. Unlike most instances of swollen body parts that require that require the compress to be placed on the injured area, with swollen gums it is only necessary to hold the compresses against your face, not directly on the swollen gums.
Frist, soak a clean cloth in cool water and wring out the excess liquid. Next hold the cloth against your face for 5 minutes. You can also use a bag of frozen peas in a thin towel. Remember only hold the compress on your face for 5 minute or until you feel the area becoming a bit numb. Remove the compress from your face for about 10 minutes then repeat 2- 3 more times.
Gargle Salt Water
Gargling salt water might not seem like the most innovative way of maintaining oral health, but by gargling water with higher sodium content you can kill of much of the bacteria that cause swollen gums. Gargling salt water also helps to prevent infections in the mouth that might lead to other health issues.
First make sure to brush your teeth with a soft toothbrush as not to further irritate your gums. Next ad about 2-3 tea spoons of salt to a cup of water, mix the solution well and begin rinsing your mouth with it. Make sure to slosh it over your gums. Repeat this cleaning proses 2-3 times a day.
Turmeric
Turmeric is common household spice with amazing health properties. One of turmeric’s many uses is as a home remedy for swollen gums. Turmeric if full of curcumin, which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce pain, swelling and inflammation.
To make a cleansing paste, mix ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder with a little water to make a paste. Then apply this paste on the gums with your clean finger, make sure to leave this paste on for 5 minutes. Once the 5 minutes are up rinse your mouth out and massage your gums gently for 1 minute with a clean finger. Repeat twice daily for 1 to 2 weeks.
Using any one of these three home remedies you can prevent or eliminate swollen gums and steer clear of many other oral health issues.
