10 Experiences To Have On Your Own In The New Year

Written by: Lindsay Sibson

Out with the old and in with the NEW!

The fresh start of another year represents a time in which many people set new goals and intentions for the 12 months ahead.

As you embark on your journey of having the BEST year yet, don’t forget to pencil in some “me time” by having THESE experiences solo.

Why It’s IMPORTANT To Spend Time Alone

In a society where you are constantly plugged in and have the world at your fingertips, it can often feel impossible to truly relax, unwind and recharge.

Being alone gives you time to just BE. To think. To relax. To create. To work on being who you truly are at your core. To do WHATEVER you want to do!

Benefits of alone time include:

  • Relieves anxiety – time alone quiets the chaos and chatter of the world around you.
  • Gives you time to express your creativity.
  • Helps you maintain a more accurate perception of yourself, others and the world.

In the words of the late and great Dr. Suess

“You’re off to great place. Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting –

So… get on your way!”

Get started exploring with these following “Things To Do” solo.

17 Experiences To Do By Yourself In The New Year

1. Meditate

  • Find somewhere quiet to sit, close your eyes, be still and listen to your breath.
  • Aim for 15-20 minutes.

2. Create Something NEW To You

  • Cook a healthy new dish for dinner.
  • Draw, sketch, or paint to express your creativity.

3. Go For A Long Walk In Nature

4. Start Your Own Garden

  • Whether is a vegetable patch or a more simple herb garden on your windowsill, learn to love and cultivate your own food.

5. Clean, Organize And Simplify Your Surroundings

  • Take inventory of what you have, what are you are and are not using and sell/donate/throw away items that are not contributing positively to your life.

6. Create A Vision Board

  • Gather images and words that you want to manifest in the new year and create a collage to empower and remind yourself of your vision everyday!

7. Journal

  • Expressing yourself daily in writing helps reduce anxiety and stress, boosts your immune system and can help ease the effects of trauma and illness.

8. Express Gratitude

  • Give thanks for all the blessings in your life… and appreciate the small things:

9. Do A Juice Cleanse

10. Travel Somewhere New (Even If It’s Locally)

This list of 10 experiences to have by yourself is just the beginning! Be creative and open your mind to the endless possibilities that are awaiting you in the new year.

What Our Clients Say*

During my FitLife transformation, I lost 70 pounds! That's why I signed up for the protocol, but the most exciting result is that I found ME in the process. I had been hiding under a pile of pounds, self-doubt, and grief! FitLife changed my life and I knew I had to share it with others.

-Lynne, Longwood FL

I started with Fitlife back in 2011-2012…I wrote into Fitlife asking for an extreme amount of help. I was 300 pounds, with high cholesterol, and Drew helped me transform my life. I lost over 130 pounds and I no longer have high cholesterol. Not only did I lose weight, so did my husband, who lost over 70 pounds!
